Technical Assistance
The Heuser Hearing Institute provides technical assistance and training for professionals providing services for children with speech and language delays, as well as, deaf and hard of hearing children from birth to age 21 years. The technical assistance services are available without fee statewide for providers and families in First Steps, the birth to age three early intervention program. These services are funded with a grant with the Department of Public Health for First Steps providers and families. Services are also available for a fee for public school teachers and other professionals who provide educational services to deaf and hard of hearing students age three years to 21 years.
These technical assistance services are a part of the Heuser Hearing Institute’s mission which is to make a positive impact on the services provided to persons who experience a hearing loss from birth to grave. This technical assistance allows our mission to expand and therefore more fully be realized on a statewide basis.
